The Role

We are looking for a dynamic marketing coordinator to join the Obviouslee crew. Your focus will be on outdoor and active lifestyle clients, ranging from a distinct sporting community to innovative outdoor brands and products. You will be assisting in project management and day-to-day execution of marketing, public relations, social media and content creation. You will play an active role in strategic planning, while also implementing marketing tactics. Most importantly, you will be a part of a collaborative team of creative individuals whose goal is to deliver exceptional work.

Daily activities related to this position:

  • Assist with media relations, including the development of media lists, fact sheets, pitching, press release writing, distribution, interview brief creation, press outreach and clipping

  • Maintain social media and content across multiple platforms, including the creation of assets and community engagement

  • Participate in client meetings and discussions

  • Assist with research and discovery to provide insights for marketing efforts

  • Prepare client documents such as weekly emails, agendas and reports

  • Organize and distribute creative files, photos and video assets

  • Assist in managing social media marketing budgets

  • Contribute to the brainstorming process and idea generation on projects

  • Maintain work-in-progress deadlines and tasks to keep projects moving

  • Develop general awareness of marketing industry news, both pertaining to your role and client industries

The Experience

  • First and foremost, you come from an outdoor, action sports, or active lifestyle background, and have a passion for all things outdoors.

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in an agency, in-house marketing, or media role

  • Strong communicator with excellent writing skills

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities

  • Thrive in a high-energy environment

  • Ability to easily switch from one project to the next

  • Top notch organization and project management skills

  • Curious, collaborative and creative by nature

  • Works individually, as well as collaboratively

  • Keen sense of all social media channels for business and best practices for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other emerging platforms

  • Experience with media relations, research, outreach and tracking

  • Experience with media CRM/monitoring and social scheduling software platforms a plus

  • Looking for a team that allows you to hone your skills as a well-rounded marketer
