The Position: Zip Line Course Manager

General Responsibilities and Qualifications

 

Terms of Contract:

Full Time, Year Round

Peak Season: March – November

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

 

Responsibilities: Course Manager will be the primary manager for all course operations, course and gear maintenance, and coordinating or delivering all guide trainings at The Gorge. The individual will be responsible for training guides, maintaining equipment, maintaining the course and ensuring the quality standard of our guest experience. This person must have a strong background in the zipline / aerial adventure industry, be comfortable with managing a diverse group of staff in a fast paced environment and demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of risk management.

 

Staff Management:

1.    Interviewing, hiring, and training

2.    Supervising seasonal and year round staff and guides

3.    Promote a positive, team-based working environment for staff

4.    Maintain and update risk management standards

5.    Facilitate staff meetings

 

Equipment, Facilities, Logistical Management:

6.    Conduct and/or coordinate all course inspections: daily, periodic, annually, etc.

7.    Conduct and/or coordinate all course repairs and maintenance

8.    Coordinate all gear purchasing and gear maintenance

9.    Facilitate annual recertification of all course equipment as required by manufactures: ZipStop braking systems, DEUS devices, etc.

10. Organize and maintain all equipment and gear

11. Maintain all course and equipment inspection logs

12. Repair damaged equipment

13. Coordinate vehicle maintenance

14. Promote clean facility and equipment standards for employees

 

Qualifications:

            Required:

1.    Management experience

2.    Comfortable with rope work and systems and work at height

3.    Love working with people of all ages, skills, and experience

4.    Effective communication skills with both staff and clients

5.    Current Wilderness First Responder, or ability to obtain

6.    Comfortable with computer-based programs for scheduling, reservations, emailing, POS, Microsoft Word and Excel, etc.

7.    Clean driving record; comfortable driving a 15-passenger van

8.    Comfortable working in dynamic environment with long hours in June, July, and August

 

            Desired:

1.    Bachelor’s degree

2.    Knowledge of WNC natural environment and history (flora, fauna, geology, etc)

                  3.    Complete ACCT Portfolio meeting QCP Guidelines for one or all of the following:                                  Tester/Trainer, Inspector, or Installer
