Vermont-based bicycle tour operator VBT Bicycling Vacations seeks a part-time “bicycle local host” for the Self-Guided bicycle program in Napa & Sonoma
Qualifications:
- enjoy meeting people
- regional knowledge -energy, enthusiasm, attention to detail
- valid driver’s license, clean driving record
- able to lift and carry bicycles up to 50 lbs.
- basic bike maintenance skills or cyclist helpful but not required
- Paid training provided
Details:
- 5-night/6-day program with up to 15 dates (2-12 guests per date) throughout 2021 season, runs Sunday through Friday
- Sunday full-day in-person commitment (till 4 p.m.), then Monday-Friday, you are compensated for being “on-call” by telephone, and in-person only for high-level emergency
- Paid training provided
- Own transportation required, including space for up to 12 bikes
“Self-guided local host” job description:
- access client-facing documents from VBT’s on-line web portal
- bike handling: pre-trip: prep bikes at bike operator storage and post-trip: clean & return to storage
- get bikes from VBT storage in Santa Rosa to inn in Napa and back to storage from inn in Bodega Bay
- conduct welcome meeting/bike fitting/Ride with GPS intro (~90 mins) w/ clients on a Sunday -provide “on-call phone support” to guests for a total of 5 days -handle emergencies by phone, and or in extreme circumstances in person (usually rare, compensation provided)
Weekly payment depends on the number of clients per date. 2 guests: $745 4 guests: $880 6 guests: $930 8 guests: $980 10 guests: $1080 12 guests: $1130
