Job Description & Requirements

Title: Sales Consultant

Reports To: VP of Sales

FLSA: Non-Exempt, Hourly with commission

Status: Full-time

Supervisory Responsibility: Not Applicable

Purpose of the Role:

Provide customer service and sales support to the Colorado Yurt Sales and Marketing team to ensure we exceed the expectations of our clients and grow the business.

Essential Functions of the Role:

Customer Service

  • Answer incoming calls, respond to and resolve customer service needs/requests
  • Pass any urgent issues to the appropriate party – VP of Sales or appropriate Manager
  • Make welcome calls to new customers and begin sales process when needed or transfer to appropriate or assigned Sales Consultant

Sales

  • Conduct Sales calls = Add and activate finalized estimates, collect deposits in accordance with company policy
  • Collect final balances on order in accordance with company policy
  • Debrief daily with VP of Sales and team; review weekly reports and attend Sales Meetings and training
  • Maintain company’s propriety client database

New Business Development

  • Conduct the following calls: website inquiries and assigned leads, referrals, prospects, cold call research and follow-up
  • Help in the creation and delivery of new marketing programs and sales ideas to build customer base and increase sales
  • Attend trades shows when necessary to further develop new business and potential markets

Seasonal Activity

  • Prospect for new business in determined markets. Research and evaluate new and expanded potential markets
  • Propose ideas and plans for “off-season” business, sales and Marketing.
  • Assist VP Sales/Sales Manager with reporting sales results annually

Decision Making Authority:

Issues or concerns regarding customer service are to be resolved with guidance of the VP of Sales, Managers, President or CEO. Items related to new business development are to be referred to the appropriate Sales Rep or VP of Sales/Sales Manager.

Working Relationships:

Internal: VP of Sales, Marketing Manager, Sales Manager and all Sales Reps. Also, interactions with Finance, Purchasing, Shipping, Production and IT as needed.

External: All prior and new customers or key contact at all accounts

Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, 40-hour work week. Overtime may be requested as required.

Physical Environment: Professional office environment with an appropriately professional appearance and upbeat attitude.

Mental and Visual Demands: Flow of work and nature of duties involve normal coordination of mind and eyes much of the time.

Qualifications for this Role:

  • Three to five years relevant Sales experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. (QuickBooks a plus)
  • Motivated to do sales, previous experience necessary. Ability to deal with high-end clientele preferred.
  • Excellent telephone manner, including active listening skills, ability to ask questions and clear verbalization. Basic math and geometry skills necessary.
  • Need to manage multiple tasks, effectively prioritize and manage time and produce reports when needed.
  • Ability to toggle between working independently and supporting the team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Scale/Salary Range:

$18 to $20 per hour with eventual commission. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays. Sick days, health care and retirement plans
