Serving alongside others from across the country who share a passion for hard work and conservation of wild lands, you will engage in AmeriCorps national service, meaningful career development, and significant work in the great outdoors. Crew Leaders embark on a journey to gain the technical and interpersonal skills required to be effective and successful leaders. Through MCC’s Leadership Development Program, you will learn technical field skills together with such leaderships skills as effective communication, conflict management, project management, interpersonal interaction, and more.

EXPERIENCE GAINED~ Nationally Recognized Leadership Development Program ~ Intensive hands-on experience in ecological restoration and resource management~ Direct interaction and collaboration with Federal, State, and Local Land Management Agencies~ Backcountry travel and/or camping in diverse settings across the Northern Plains, Rockies, National Parks, and Wilderness areas ~ Master traditional skills using legendary primitive tools - pulaskis, mcleods, pick mattocks, crosscuts, plus many other tools~ Receive applicable certifications: Chainsaw & Crosscut, Firefighter Red Card, First Aid, and more, depending on position
