Summary:
The Techs are responsible for waxing, tuning, repairing and mounting bindings to skis and snowboards along with conducting general maintenance to Next Adventure’s rental assets. This position requires exceptional attention to detail while working with deadlines in a fast-paced team environment. The Techs will spend much of their time customer-facing assisting with rentals.
Job Responsibilities:
Assess customer needs and offer advice on services
Perform all aspects of the rental process for a variety of winter sports gear
Test, adjust and mount bindings to skis and snowboards
Learn the proper way to use Next Adventure’s shop machinery safely
Edge, wax and repair skis and snowboards
Acquire appropriate binding certifications and product knowledge
Check out customers using POS software
Assist on the retail floor as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a tune shop preferred; willing to train the right candidate
Previous customer service experience in ski/snowboard shop (preferred)
Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
Previous experience working with a team
Ability to talk about general ski and snowboard nomenclature
Ability to assess ski and snowboard damage and provide recommendations to repair
Light to moderate lifting, standing for long periods of time with reasonable accommodation
Willing to use machinery to wax, edge and tune skis and snowboards
Basic math skills
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preference given to applicants with open availability.
Proficient with, or a quick study on, Microsoft, Google and internal software applications
